It's all been a facade, a fraud, a mind trip. Brownsville residents don't ride bikes in 95 degree heat, have zero interest in "Keeping Brownsville Weird," just want to have enough money to pay their P.U.B. bill and put food on the table.
And yes, Rose, bike trails are nice, but not before sidewalks and drainage. Austin already had those basics confirmed before building bike trails, in case you hadn't noticed. My hometown, Seattle, has gorgeous bike trails, but sidewalk and drainage issues were handled first, somewhere around 1900.
President Barack Obama's recent comments about Donald Trump seem to fit Rose Gowen:
It's bad enough being arrogant when you know what you're talking about, but it's really bad being arrogant when you don't know what you're talking about.
Our 2014 article that shared emails between Gowen and taxpayers concerned about the narrowing of business conduit E. 6th Street from 3 lanes to 2 to accommodate a bike lane. Our readers described Gowen as "arrogant," "rude," "drunk with power," and "ugly." Gowen even signed one email disgustingly as "Ugh! Rose."
Brownsville needs better representation as City Commissioner At Large-B. Will anyone come forward to challenge Gowen May 2017?
tyranny!
