Sheriff Candidate John Chambers Sentenced to 5 Years Probation~UPDATE: Response from Chambers

This inbox from someone attending the sentencing:
"Jim, Chambers received 5 yrs probation, 350 hours of community service, complete cognitive thinking course and  $2,800 fine plus court costs."

Just received this message from John Chambers:

"It is up for appeal so everything is suspended.. no mandate..I'm confident it will be reversed on appeal. This is crooked."

  2. Now he needs to be forthcoming with his campaign supporter and tell them that this conviction prevents him from taking office as sheriff. He cannot be sheriff. And an appeal will take longer than November . And the chances of a victory are very slim to none at all.

    1. You are so right. He (Chambers) Couldn't run a small Town like Indian Lake so how does he expect to handle all of CAMERON COUNTY.To describe him as a GRANDIOSE pronounced GRAN'DE-OS".He is in complete denial.Blame yourself Chambers you finally got caught.12 Jurors found you GUILTY with the Evidence presented and the Video with you talking and the phone conversation with your voice plus the 14 officers testimony.

  3. I think he will win the appeal. Very few prosecutions are truly "political" but this one definitely was orchestrated. When the guy you are running against is the one who has you arrested, just in time for the election... good luck Mr. Chambers

    2. Oh how people will deceive themselves. Cortez and our very honorable DA had nothing to do with John's indictment. That was brought about by John thinking that the law of the land was John's law, not the Laws of the State of Texas, which he DOES NOT KNOW, and therefore is unable to enforce. If you are John's friend there is one law for you but if he does not like you there is different law for you. Ask anyone of several people who used to be his friend and now no longer are. They will tell you just how crooked John Chambers is. He has NO business being a sheriff of anything other than lala land.

  5. Funny how Chambers manipulated his supporters and failed to mention he was caught and RECORDED committing felonies.

He is dishonestand can't handle accountability and thinks he is smarter than he really is.

He's triedto distract everybody by claiming it's a Gilbert Hinojosa conspiracy. Then he claimed it was a conspiracy orchestrated by Victor Cortez. THEN he told people this was all caused by a one little old lady.

His excuses keep getting dumber and dumber and his supporters are too desperate or dumb to back away from this crook.

    1. Oh hi Victor Cortez.

People saw you at the courthouse on the day of the trial with your ear to the door, nearly wet your pants with glee when your political trap worked to snag Chambers. Chambers will be vindicated (that means found innocent) and you are going to lose this race. But keep commenting. Thought you had more important things to do like bust real criminals, guess not, if they aren't running against you for political office its not worth the effort huh.

    2. Victor did not have his ear to the door. That's a Chambers tactic. Victor was very open about his interest and sat in the Court Room. Don't speak about what you don't know. I was there and saw Victor and heard John lie about the video and audio of him committing these crimes. Total denial, thinks that he can lie his way out of this problem just like he has lied his way into Chief of Police of Indian Lake and said he helped the council, no, HE OWNED THEM. That is a very sad thing to have happen in a small town.

  6. I lived in Indian Lake for 8 years and during the last year there (2013) we had a break in. I tried to contact Mr.Chambers during office hours for 3 days and did not even get voice mail. Suggests a less than diligent police chief. He was probably busy with his other businesses and certainly neglectful of his duties.
