In addition to the 17 year old Hanna student, Cole Mata, the lady pictured above, Dalilah Garcia, was also honored at Brownsville's last city commission meeting for her work as president of FemCity, a group of Brownsville businesswomen.
Checking the group's website, I noticed their offer of a "30-day free trial" for membership, meaning that, should I submit an application to FemCity, there will be membership dues.
Commissioner Linda Macias, who nominated Ms. Garcia, read a statement commending her for "2000 hours of community service" empowering women with "consistent uplifting vibes," helping Brownsville FEMS "make an impact on the world."
