It's called self-awareness, understanding how a certain statement, appearance or business decision may look to others.
No one I grew up with would show up to receive a briefing on hurricane damage in white boots.
It's doubtful that Ron saw this look at Harvard or Yale University and he attended both, or in the Navy where he served as a legal advisor to Seal Team One.
Scratching my head to come up with a situation where Ron's boots wouldn't seem out of place and all I'm coming up with is a Gay Pride Parade.
