TWO CANDIDATES RESPOND, BUT SOMEONE CLAIMING TO BE CONNECTED TO PINK APE SPILLS THE BEANS ON MAILBOXGATE

Three candidates running as a slate for Mayor, City Commissioner At Large A, City Commissioner District 1, were designated by this blog as the Holy Trinity.  

All three were tied to something we referred to as "mailboxgate" since a number of flyers advertising all three were shown in pictures to have been illegally taped to mailboxes in the city of Brownsville.

We approached all three candidates for answers.  Nurith Galonsky was the first to respond, followed quickly by John Cowen.  Trey Mendez, who has readily communicated in the past, never responded, although the message service shows the message I sent him was read at 12:33 PM today.

That's fine.  Communication is optional in our Trumpian world and I'm dealing with candidates whose life experience can be measured in ounces while looking back at my tonnage.

The first to respond to our quest for info on mailboxgate was Galonsky, Nurith:  

"I had nothing to do with the flyers being taped to mailboxes. At this stage in the campaign season, the competition is pulling all sorts of pranks to gain an advantage."

Barton:  "You seem to be implying this was some sort of political dirty trick?"

Galonsky:  "I have no idea. The only thing I do know is that Roman (Perez) who is supporting my opponent is disseminating those pictures."

Yes, poltical gadfly Roman Perez is indeed supporting Ricardo Longoria, Galonsky's runoff opponent and the 16 year District 1 incumbent.(As we reported some time back, Perez intended to run himself in District 1 when he thought Longoria's health would prevent him from running, but, once Longoria decided to run, Perez joined forces hoping for two things:

1.  This would be Rick's last term.

1.  Rick would support Perez for his run in 2023.

John Cowen, like Galonsky, denied any knowledge of mailboxgate in a terse response:

"No idea, Jim. Wasn’t anything that I had knowledge of..."

When Trey Mendez chose not to respond, I messaged his campaign finance manager, Ruben Hererra, who did respond:

"I know nothing."

So far, two candidates and one campaign finance manager say they were totally unaware of the flyers being taped to mailboxes photo evidence of which is being distributed by Roman Perez and a young man named Alex Ramirez.  This is where the story takes a bizarre and possibly unreliable twist.

Since Alex Ramirez is the person who sent me several photos of Holy Trinity fliers taped to mailboxes, I approach him to see what he knows and is willing to tell me:

Barton:  "Thanks for those pics.  You look familiar.  Are you working in one of the campaigns?"

Ramirez:  I am working with moreno(Rodrigo Moreno of Pink Ape Media) but I dont like the way trey is lying about the other campaigns , I support Cowen but trey is playing nasty,

Barton:  "I understand.  You know that some suspect that the flyers taped to mailboxes was a staged deal?  Both Cowen and Galonsky claim to know nothing about it, along with Ruben Hererra, Trey's campaign finance manager."

Ramirez:  "Well all I know is we need a better brownsville be dont need another Tony Martinez doing nothing for the city... as I know also is that trey and Tony was working together to get Charlie out of the race I dont really if it's true or not but one of trey's supporter told me that he was getting signs from Tony's house and I'm talking about 3 months ago"

Barton: "Did you take the pics of the mailboxes or were they given to you by Roman Perez or someone else?" 

Ramirez:  "Sorry for the way I'm texting, I'm doing things at the same time.... one of galonskys team sent to me the pictures I live in district 1 also"

Barton:  "Why would someone from Galonsky's team send you the pics when that makes her look bad? Who on Galonsky's team?"

Ramirez:  "Because she trust on me

It's not was to hurt someone it was just to demonstrate that they did the work ... but you know everything always come to the light

Yes sr.  And not all the flyers was on the mailboxes this dumb politiqueras did it wrong the majority was on the fence

They dont care if it's against the law... like I said Mr. Garza Is not going to do anything against this , for example the votes in charge of a chicken plate

No one , I'm saying that you think that maybe this is just staged ... but If it's staged it's more fame to the opponent It doesn't make sense too" If Ramirez is to be believed, a politiquera or politiqueras, hired by Galonsky to distribute flyers put them on fences in District 1, but also, in many cases, on mailboxes. Thus, mailboxgate!
