BROWNSVILLE METRO'S BUS STOPS DON'T NEED TO BE COVERED IF YOU HAVE THE RIDER SYSTEMS APP

Tracie Orcillez, Transit Planner
Will someone please tell Juan Montoya of El Rrun Rrun he need no longer worry about Brownsville Metro riders out in the elements at an uncovered bus stop.

As Tracie Orcillez, the MPO's Transit Planner explained at Thursday's MPO meeting, any customer with a Ride Systems app on their phone will be able to know exactly where their bus is at any point and time and so can stay inside in an air-conditioned coffee shop or their own home, leaving only in enough time to make it to the bus stop before the bus arrives.

"Shazam!" as Gomer Pyle would say.

That's not all.  Orcillez explained that riders with phones, but not the app, will be able to simply text the number of their bus stop to a Brownsville Metro number(not yet available) to learn exactly how many minutes the bus is from their stop.

Isn't technology wonderful?

  2. Lol. That’s still a violation of ADA. Especially if they are utilizing Federal Funds. Riders need bus shelters.
