BROWNSVILLE POSTMASTER TAKES PRO-ACTIVE APPROACH TO MAILBOXGATE

The lady on the line at the United States Postal Service Inspector General hotline listened to my account of receiving photographic evidence of misuse of U.S. Postal Service mailboxes.

She referred me to the Brownsville, Texas Postmaster who kindly received me in his office.

Showing him the pictures I've received of campaign flyers attached to mailboxes, he took down the phone number of Jessica Puente Bradshaw, the first person to send me such pictorial evidence.(I mentioned to the postmaster the name Roman Perez as the person Bradshaw told me had sent her the pics.)

I also gave the postmaster the name Alex Ramirez as another person sending me pics of flyers attached to Brownsville mailboxes.

The postmaster said he'd likely not take a hardline against any violators, simply inform them of federal regulations and collect any postage due for use of the receptacles.  He said he would alert his postal workers in Southmost to be on the lookout for the flyers and report any that were illegally taped to mailboxes.

"Postal workers will simply take down something posted to the box," the postmaster stated, " and access postage to the recipient."

He said he was obligated to file a report with the Inspector General.

  2. Duardo totally sits on his ass in McAllen, "covering Brownsville" via Facebook. He approaches journalism like a pimple-faced middle schooler.

    2. No quarrel with using Facebook Jake(duardo), just the fact that you're ONLY using Facebook, not getting off your ass, driving to Brownsville and actually covering stories. Maybe that's why you never lasted at ANY newspaper gig for more than just a few days. . . . . . perezoso!!!!!! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

  3. Trump's tariff threats are getting tiring as he spouts his propaganda. All this talk is more for his supporters who think its a great idea than those countries that see it as America's abuse of its power. Trump is creating an enviornment going forward with other nations that is detrimental to our longer term intests. That's Trump, a short-term thinker, inexperienced in the long game, all about being the opportunist and to hell with what he leaves behind.
