ADDENDUM: CARLOS CASCOS, REBECCA GOMEZ ADD SUBSTANCE TO THE ROBERT SANCHEZ STORY

Carlos Cascos
After our late night missive concerning Robert "Captain Bob" Sanchez's artificial planting into the 2018 Democrat primary as a candidate for county judge, we awoke to  responses from former Secretary of State and County Judge Carlos Cascos and local advocate Rebecca Gomez, a close friend of Robert's, who tried to help him with the necessary paperwork to run for office.

First of all, our Facebook inbox contained this brief response from Mr. Cascos:

"J...good morning. Apparently, Robert wanted to run for County Judge. I had heard he wanted to run as a Republican, but ultimately settled on running as a Democrat. As you may recall, Robert has run for public office before."

No great revelation here, but Cascos squarely assigns the responsibility of running for office on Robert Sanchez himself, not mentioning any role by local Republicans including  Chris Valadez and/or Tad Hasse.

Rebecca Gomez
Rebecca Gomez responded in more detail, openly sharing her participation and motivation in Captain Bob's unsuccessful judge run.  Posted below is her complete inbox response, originally shared in several segments:

"Yes sir I was treasurer for Mr. Sanchez., out of concern for my party

When Tad Hasse suggested to Mr. Sanchez, to run against Eddie Trevino

This was Tad Hasse's idea in the middle of a tumultuous personal time during marital issues related to Mr. Sanchez.

I had no choice but to be treasurer to keep up with a campaign plotted by Tad Hasse

I received from Tad Hasse cash money he put in my purse at city hall when we met at city hall, and this was his effort to put Mr. Sanchez on ballot.

I donated nothing in cash, it was Tad Hasse who got the filing fee for Mr. Sanchez

It was never about going after Eddie Trevino but going after Oliveira for stealing Mr. Sanchez family.

And this was the only way, to publicly avenge what I saw as wrong from a state rep I supported for years.

I felt sorry for Mr. Sanchez pain over the divorce proceedings at the time Tad Hasse sneaked him into the Democratic Party, putting me in a position to leave or stay

I chose to stick around.

Knowing Mr. Sanchez was no match to the County judge, and unable to stop Hasse's plan

I had no choice

But at no time did I contribute one cent to Mr. Sanchez campaign.

I will support Eddie Trevino for County Judge, as a democrat and dispute Tad Hasse's allegations, when Tad knows he put the cash in my purse at city hall where I understood he worked.

Mr. Hasse, should clarify his false information instead of trying to wash his bad faith deeds with me

Tad Hasse knows what I'm saying is true.

I have nothing to hide and Hasse took advantage of a man under the stress of a divorce and a serious rival."
As we reported last night, if the intended goal of Cris and Tad's efforts to get Robert Sanchez in the county judge's race was to deplete the war chest of Eddie Trevino, it appears to have backfired as Eddie seems to have done quite well in fundraising during the spring of 2018, not particularly sidetracked by Captain Bob's run for office.

From the editor:  Robert "Captain Bob" Sanchez has not been a particularly reliable contributor to this report, originally stating that Tad Hasse gave him $1,000, then changing the amount to $600.

After more questioning, he changed his story to indicate that Rebecca Gomez, not Hasse, gave him $600, "all  in ones."

Whatever, Bob!

  2. It is not possible to me anyone believes Sanchez. With my brother I. The car I had him on the ra do I phone claiming all of these NPD officers were at Carlos Marina home to arrest him. Me Gomez effectively calls out DiRxo a liar when she admits to being the treasurer. But her clam for helping him makes zero sense. How would running for county judge help him punish oliviera? I refuse to believe any of them.

    3. Sorry for all the typos. I left me reading glasses at home and was typing on the phone. But if what Rebecca put in her message is true then Eduardo lied about what he claims she told him.

  3. Jim is known to go out to things. It’s no big deal that he got a free ticket from Morgan. It’s an earth shattering big deal Bobby took the ticket.

Everyone in town knows he doesn’t get anything free from politicians because of the precedence and appearance of it. He pays for his own meal. He doesn’t go to meet and greets or fundraisers. All that changed in this one event. He says he doesn’t believe anybody in this story. Well Bobby we don’t believe you either since you took the free ticket.

  4. Tad gave money to Rebecca as treasurer for Robert to run. Who gave Tad the money? Who gained by Robert running against Eddie in the Democratic Primary?
