Today: 3780 Yesterday: 2964 pageviews (from Google blogger).
From the editor: This blog has experienced a slow, steady climb of readership since we returned from Iowa where my wife did three stints as a travel nurse last year.
No, the pageview numbers don't come close to our 2013-14 coverage of the inexplicable BISD bus fires, nor our 2015 stories related to the hit-and-run death of Mary Tipton which topped out at 19,973 for our largest ever number of daily pageviews.(OK, a false rumor we reported about a supermarket moving into the former K-Mart building did get over 26,000 pageviews.)
It's also to be noted that, although "all politics is local," we've been focused on the presidential campaign, not so much on who holds a justice of the peace position locally.
IMHO, the result of this presidential run will set the tone for our country for decades to come.
Having a wannabe dictatator, who admires Putin, Orban, Jong Un and Xi, hold our nation's highest office will totally test the other two branches of our government to provide checks and balances for such a rogue office holder.
Nixon, Kissinger |
If those guardrails don't materialize, I'm counting on a national response similar to my youth, when young Americans all over this country stood up for racial equality, human rights and fought against the lies of Richard Milhouse Nixon, Heinz (Henry) Alfred Kissinger and Lyndon Baines Johnson that embroiled our country in an unpopular war.
Congratulations. I like the posts from Rene Torres, the pictures you use and that sometimes you talk about your grandson and showcase his talents and path of life. The articles and pictures from Mexico are also great. The posts about local people are the best. Your own story is outstanding. Well, that is my point of view.
