From the editor: Space Exploration Technologies Corporation(SpaceX) has flagrantly and repeatedly violated the "Memorandum of Understanding" it signed 9/01/2013, a document declaring, among other things that “Anything not otherwise specifically addressed in this Agreement is not authorized or otherwise approved by this Agreement."
Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino and Precinct 1 County Commissioner Sofia Benavides, in particular, are clearly responsible to protect the county and precinct from any SpaceX violations, but neither has shown any interest in that regard.
Why do these politicos turn a blind eye to SpaceX's violations of the MOU?
It's as if the $35M SpaceX contributed to Brownsville via the BCIC is some sort of "hush money" freeing the corporation from living up to the agreement.
It's reminiscent of Dutchman Peter Minuit's trading $24 worth of goodies in 1626 to the indigenous Lenapes in exchange for what is now called Manhattan Island.
Screw that! Our formerly pristine Boca Chica Beach, the so-called "people's beach," should never have been for sale at any price.
