From a barstool at 1848 BBQ, Jerry McHale told me he considered the writing of clever headlines to be one of his "gifts".
McHale may have struck proverbial gold among today's offerings of the McHale Report, mostly pictures and headlines, supplemented by some actual writing, with this memorable heading: "BLOGGER BARTON SUFFERS TRUMP TANTRUM AFTER TSC LOSSES"
Jerry's headline is partially correct; the local community college did suffer the loss of considerable educational and administrative experience with the election of two newbies that the chairwoman trusts will cater to her every whim. (I suffered no personal losses as I don't endorse candidates.)
As for my being a tantrum thrower, no one who knows me thinks that, but Jerry was just responding to my description of his Trump-like style of insulting, denigrating political candidates who don't hire his services, calling them "backstabbers," "stooges," "jackasses," "traitors" or "cockroaches."(With respect to one female candidate who refused to pay him, McHale's headline referred to her "crawling under sperm-soaked sheets.")
Perhaps it would have been more accurate had I written that it was Trump using McHale's modus operandi in 2015 when he destroyed 17 Republican candidates for President with juvenile slurs and insults.
Either way, in the current political climate, the strategy does work, but it's classless and unprofessional. When this technique is employed locally, particularly with respect to candidates for the board of trustees of an educational institution, it reduces the whole election process to something unworthy of participation.

DeleteThis is why McHale and Montoya laugh while claiming you cannot prove they are paid. Camarillo for example in this one report paid Pink Ape $6,000. Pink Ape then pays for all advertising with we the people having no idea who is being paid. We all know Montoya does not have the skill set to produce all of those graphics. ReplyDeleteIt would not surprise in the least if Adela actually paid for the Norma and Edward's filing fees and other expenses. She's that desperate for control of the board as she gets no salary as a trustee.
DeleteEnglish teachers know the power of words. Some use their skill to write novels, poetry, and articles. Others use it to control readers and make them angry, upset, confused and unable to think. I think McHale reads too much and knows too many words and sometimes plays with the readers.

DeleteI would bet Santos or Pink ape paid for this mornings hit job on Cardenas. Early voting started on February 20th, which is before Cardenas sold his home. The elections office can verify the exact day he voted. Another hit job by Montoya and those who pay him.
