Only the loquacious Jerry McHale of the McHale Report would have the chutzpah to take a victory lap after just 2.3% of the county's registered voters participated in the recent runoff election, that is 5,288 out of 233,690.

Comparing himself and Juan Montoya to legendary ballplayers from yesteryear, the unabashed blogger-for-hire gives himself and Montoya pats on the back:

Clearly, if the goal is greater participation in democracy locally, our paid-for bloggers are part of the problem, not the solution, adding to the apathy, distrust and low confidence among prospective voters while stifling qualified candidates from submitting their good names to the anticipated trashing they'll receive if they don't pay these clowns to write favorable stories.

As for the chairwoman of the local community college, she lost considerable credibility in the community.  She may enjoy board majority temporarily, but current and potential fellow trustees have clearly seen that crossing her will result with her employing paid-for political hacks to sully their reputations, not exactly a good environment to create consensus and work together for future growth.
