Sheriff Candidate Manny Trevino outside Dona Carmen's

Speaking very briefly to Sheriff Candidate Manny Trevino outside Dona Carmen's, I learned that he had "31 years of law enforcement experience."

Expressing my disappointment that he'd not attended last month's Sheriff Candidate Forum as the TSC Law Center, I told Trevino:  "I'm sure both you and Sheriff Eric Garza know how to make an arrest, but I wanted to see you addressing a group to get a sense of how you would command your staff in a group setting."

Trevino said he would have attended the forum if not for a "prior commitment," but that he wanted he and Garza to "have a debate."

"Well, if that develops, I'll certainly be there," I told Trevino.
