GOP RACISM TEMPORARILY THWARTED IN TENNESSEE

After the mass shooting at Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee that killed six, including three 9 year olds, three representatives from the Tennessee House of Representatives joined a protest promoting gun safety.

The GOP-controlled House of Representitives moved for immediate expulsion of the so-called "Tennessee Three," two of whom were Black men, the third a White woman.

Expulsion for the White woman, Representative Gloria Johnson, failed, while the expulsion votes for the two Black men, Justin Jones and Justin J. Pearson, passed.

This is a time-honored ploy from the racist Old South:  "Learn your place you uppity Negroes!"

The fact that this left a region in Tennessee with a population in excess of 100,000 without representation mattered not to the Tennessee legislature.

Local officials, though, took matters into their own hands, reappointing Jones and Pearson.

The two men were back on the job, yes, but by state law they had to submit to a special election.

That was held Thursday.

The results?

Justin Jones was re-elected, winning 78% of the vote, a landslide by any measure.

Justin J. Pearson was re-elected with a whopping 94% of the vote!

The voters thwarted the racist Tennessee House of Representatives resoundingly!
