Hunter Biden |
My friends with conservative leanings know how I feel about Donald Trump.
I fully expect Donald Trump to be convicted of 3 or 4 felonies, although the process to justice has been agonizingly slow.
Trump, nevertheless, forges ahead with his 2024 campaign for president, clinging to the hope that being elected President for the second time will keep him out of prison.
This is the point were conservatives chime in: "What about Hunter Biden?"
Well, the 53 year old Hunter Biden is facing two charges of failure to file income taxes for 2018 and 2019.
He also faces drug charges associated with illegally carrying a weapon.
Trump-appointed U.S. attorney for Delaware has reached a plea agreement with Hunter, who is expected to plead guilty to two federal misdemeanor counts of failing to pay his taxes.
"Well, he should go to gawdamn jail!" some are saying and I don't disagree. If you don't want to do the time, don't do the crime.
Here's the thing.
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas |
Our conservative Supreme Court, engineered by Donald Trump and company, is changing our country quickly.
It's not just the reversal of Roe v. Wade, but expansion of 2nd Amendment gun rights in the Bruen decision written by Clarence Thomas.

In 2018 Hunter Biden filled out the federal form to purchase a firearm.
That form asks the applicant if they're using any addictive substance. Biden answered "no" on the form, although, in his published memoirs, he admits to "smoking crack cocaine every 15 minutes."
That's the part of the Biden case that will still linger even after he pleads guilty to the income tax charges.
The so-called Bruen decision, many feel, does not preclude admitted drug users from carrying fire arms.
It is very difficult being a man. It is very difficult being a strong woman. Hunter Biden has a great father and a great role model, but...
