BROWNSVILLE MAN OPENS HIS MOUTH TO ADDITIONAL CHARGES

Unfortunately, Santiago Rodriguez of Brownsville was simply "born too late."

Had Santiago been doing his thing around town, say between 1996 and 2000, he might have achieved some fame and notoriety by appearing on the TV show "America's Dumbest Criminals."

According to news and police reports, Santiago was picked up in the Walmart parking lot on Alton Gloor in possession of items he'd neglected to pay for; a USB charger, scissors, a mini printer, car camera and gloves.

While being transported to the Brownsville City Jail via police car, Mr. Rodriguez decided to threaten the peace officer providing transportation.

"I hope something happens to your kids," Rodriguez said, then added:  "I want to f*** you up right now."

So, in addition to the theft, the charge of terroristic threatening was added and bond was set at $9,000.

Mr. Rodriguez will likely learn a valuable lesson.

Words can be costly.
