Tyrus Raymond "Ty" Cobb, nicknamed "The Georgia Peach," was an American League baseball player from Narrows, Georgia.
Cobb spent 22 seasons with the Detroit Tigers, the last six as the team's player-manager, then finished his career with the Philadelphia Athletics.
Cobb was noted as a fiercely competitive, sometimes angry player, who would slide into base with his spikes aimed high.
The above picture, autographed by Ty's grandson, was a gift to former TSC Trustee Rene Torres.
