DISTRICT COURT JUDGE RULES TEXAS SCHOOL DISTRICTS CAN IMPOSE MASK MANDATES WITHOUT FEAR OF FINES, LEGAL ACTION

School districts in Texas are now free to require students to wear masks.

U.S. District Judge Lee Yeakel ruled today that Texas' ban of mask mandates in schools violated the rights of disabled students.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton will also be prohibited from fining or taking legal action against Texas school districts with mask mandates.

Attorney Kim Davis Rogers of Disability Rights Texas stated:

“As the court found, Texas is not above federal law, and state officials cannot prevent school districts from providing accommodations to students who are especially vulnerable to the risks of COVID-19. We are thankful that school districts can now take the steps necessary to protect these students.”

  1. Great. The courts have firmly allowed schools to enforce basic safety measures only the brain-dead would oppose, such as masks during an airborne pandemic.

Unfortunately it will not bring back the dead teachers and students who already died of Covid, thanks to Trump and politically motivated misinformation.
