Animal control officials across the country see a 30-60% increase in lost dogs each year between July 4th and 6th.
Why?
Fireworks. Many dogs are scared by the sound and flash of fireworks.
Should Fido run away and forget where he lives, the Brownsville Animal Regulation and Care Center at 416 FM 511, Olmito, has a solution.
From 12-4PM Saturday, July 3, the center will be offering free microchips to the first 100 dogs who visit with their owner.
Normally, the price for a microchip install is $5.00.
I want to comment.
