INEFFECTIVE MCALLEN BLOGGER MAKES FUN OF NENA COMPARISON

Duardo Paz-Martinez, roughly McAllen's version of Brownsville's Bobby Wightman-Cervantes, recently saw the need to submit a "news story" on his blog, presumptuously named, the "Brownsville" Republic, but typed from McAllen, making fun of my comparison of Nena to Joan Baez.

Here's, actually, what I said:  "When I first met Nena in 1966, I noted a resemblance to Baez in looks and sassiness."

Of course, that's merely my view, based on

knowing Nena and being a fan of Joan.  You may or more not see a physical resemblance in the pics displayed here, taken at a similar chronological age.





Classless Duardo foolishly babbled on, trying to compare Baez's long singing career to Nena's caricatures, as if that was the intention of my innocent comparison.

"A more high-fallutin sentence has not been written in this God-abandoned bordertown. Jim’s good Mexican wife,Nena, died last April 9th. Ms. Baez is still alive, at 77 long years of age. Where Wishing Jim sees any sort of resemblance is the mystery. Well, Baez recorded more than 30 albums…and Nena Barton, we believe, drew more than 30 caricatures of area politicians and local

celebrities. Maybe that’s the one loose string we could throw out in support of poor Barton."

To prove his hateful point, the McAllen "journalist" carefully selected two pics of Nena, one, her last known photograph above, where she did look to be in poor health, and one pick 46 years ago when she was 9 months pregnant with our son, Diego Lee Rot.

I've been asked about Duardo:  "Why does that man hate you so much?"

Well, there is a reason.  In May 2015 I filed a harassment complaint with Google with respect to one of Duardo Paz-Martinez many irrelevant blogs. At the time, he had a dozen articles attacking me, Nena and our son, known locally as Diego Lee Rot. Google, seeing the obvious, cancelled his blogging privileges within the hour.

The next morning, and for a solid year after that, my blog comment feature was filled with 30-40 filthy, sexually-oriented, juvenile comments aimed at Nena.

Duardo denies making those comments, of course, but it's simply too coincidental to think otherwise, not only because of the timing, but the presence of some distinct stylistic fingerprints he was not clever enough to disguise.

"Why doesn't Duardo blog about McAllen?" others have asked.

The simple answer is that he is incapable of generating any interest for his blog in his hometown, but can only piggyback on the existing bloggers in Brownsville, thus the "Brownsville" Republic, typed from a coffee shop in McAllen with free wifi.

Not that the boy didn't try and try hard to blog Harlingen.  

Nearly a decade ago now, Duardo Paz-Martinez,

Tony Chapa

tried his darndest to find acceptance in the Harlingen blogosphere with his daily column,The Paz Files. In an effort to gain traction, his articles spewed withering criticism of Harlingen bloggers, Tony Chapa, editor of My Harlingen News, referring to him as Tony "The Turd" Chapa and Jerry Deal of My Leader News, whom he characterized as "excitable."

After the closing The Paz Files, a new blog, allegedly written by "UT-PA college student, Sam Losoya, from Harlingen," mysteriously surfaced, with similar attacks on the two Harlingen bloggers, an identical style and graphics. Duardo denies any connection with the seemingly fake blog, which has also closed.

Now, Duardo, has aimed his blogging missiles at Brownsville, but, he remains irrelevant in this historic town with his "investigative journalism" reduced to guessing the heights of a candidate for county judge and a potential candidate for mayor.
