"Jim, You're Wrong! The Battlefield Bike Trail DOES Have 1,000 Daily Riders, But Only 'We' Can See Them!"
It's a matter of perception. When an ordinary citizen, like me, crosses the Battlefield Hike & Bike Trail, looking to the right and to the left, I see no cyclists. According to the large taxpayer-sponsored delegation to the seminar in Fort Worth, that simply proves I have no "vision."
Not only do these city administrators, BCIC board members see hoards of cyclists using the city's bike trails, one accompanies them everywhere they go.(Note the phantom cyclist amongst the celebratory throng above.)
Perhaps, someday one of the bike-obsessed BCIC board members will have the fortitude to ride a bike to their noon meeting. They could still park free at one of the hooded meters.

These trails do not lead to jobs for our community.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a case of "The Emperor's New Clothes".
ReplyDeleteBicycles. In the Big Picture scheme of city governance, it is low on the importance gauge. This will keep rolling down the street, Jim. You're shooting too low. No one in Brownsville will take to the streets because of bicycles, or bicycle seminars. It's not like the city is outlawing tortillas, bro.
ReplyDeleteSince most of the citizens of this community live with their eyes and minds closed......the commission doesn't have to "pull the wool" over anyone's eyes.....our minds and eyes are closed, so only they can see what is good for us. "Show us the jobs or show us true facts that show tourists are coming to B'ville just to ride a bike.
ReplyDeleteI see them! I see them now! Thanks Jim. I have been enlightened now. I see the phantom bike rider in the picture here! OMG I see them everywhere - on Belden, on Battlefield, on UTB & TSC Campus,- even deserted Downtown! They are everywhere!
ReplyDeleteThe only thin person in that picture is the "ghost". Everyone else is fat. I guess they dont practice what they preach. If Rose Gowen is a doctor then she should know that she is FAT by all health standards. Time to use the bike trail Ms. Gowen.
