Erin Hernandez Garcia, candidate for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2-2 loves the baseball analogy "step up to the plate." She used it to describe her dad, Ernie Hernandez, Jr. a Cameron County Commissioner who graced a turkey plate giveaway with his presence 11/23/11 in the impoverished colonia known as Cameron Park: "Their particular commissioner is my dad, Ernie. They called him to help and he stepped up to the plate. . . . . I think it's crucial because this may be the only Thanksgiving dinner they have." Ten turkeys were donated, then prepared by Rudy's Barbecue. Dr. Asim Zamir also donated 200 plates as well. Staff from the Cameron County Sheriff's Department, New Harvest Ministries, Cameron County Precinct 2, along with Norma, Ernie and Erin Hernandez helped out at the feast.
Ernie Hernandez may have also been "stepping up" to a political plate involving Cameron Park. Yolanda Begum is Erin's opponent for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2-2 and has strong ties to Cameron Park. She taught art classes at the Cameron Park and Browne Road Social Center. Ernie Hernandez, ever the political opportunist, seized an opportunity to give daughter Erin a presence in the colonia.
Blogger Juan Montoya, beating me to the punch with his coverage of the event, quotes this colonia resident: ""Why aren't they out there trying to fix the streets and the stagnant resaca that smells like hell because it is stagnant and full of trash and used appliances. If you need a water heater, a shopping cart, or any other appliance, it's in there."
Jimmy, how did this guy get elected?? I hate politicians, I think they are like prostitutes, sell themselves outright. Mendigos.
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for Carlos Quintanilla to take credit for this project. He takes credit for everything else!
ReplyDeleteThe only reason why ernie LE MAMON hernandez won is because he ran unopposed.
ReplyDeleteWhen is Mr. Hernandez up for re-election?
ReplyDeleteHe reminds me of Mr. Gilberto Hinojosa whenever he ran for political office. I use to live in the area by the airport and used to attend "Our Lady of Peace" in the Portway Acres area. (I think the church's name has changed now). Every time there was going to be an election, Hinojosa would show up to the first Sunday Mass. He would sit in the back, take communion and at the end of mass he would "compete" with the priest to shake hands outside the church. I agree with the person that says they should get involved with the community all year long not just election time. If Mrs. Hernandez-Garcia really cares about her community, then do service for that community not just in Thanksgiving or Christmas. The less fortunate need goog streets, clean parks, food and shelter and all other needs all year long. Showing up for pictures only shows political agendas.
Who is Erin Garcia? Does Erin Hernandez sound more familiar? And is Erin short for Ernie? Erin Garcia is the dumb, dumpy daughter of Ernie "The Eel" Hernandez. According to questionable sources who have frequently been wrong in the past, the daughter feels that she will pay for the sins of her father if she promotes her maiden name. Who can blame her? Ernie Hernandez is synonymous with male sluts. Norma, Erin's mother whose effigy is hung in okra fields to frighten blackbirds, is called Queen Putiana de las Politiqueras. The daughter is beginning her quest for a district judge seat by running for justice of the peace. We know it's old, but we have space to fill and Don Pedro's words are worth rehearing. When asked his opinion regarding the dufus daughter, he replied, "There ain't no justice in that piece." Unlike a cat that covers its hole, Brownsville prefers to dig itself deeper and deeper into ignominy via its continued association with the community's most disfunctional family. The Hernandez heathens are predicting that they will easily defeat Yolanda Begum. We're not sure the number of illegal votes the family is collecting in order to prevail, but with the money they anticipate collecting from other candidates for marked ballots, Ernie and Norma calculate that the funds will more than cover Erin's expenses.
ReplyDeleteJim, I think the word "flim-flam" is regretably more apropos to this family. I've lived long enough in this community to witness the shenanigans Ernie has gotten away with. Unfortunately, nothing sticks to him. If his daughter is elected to the JP position, Lord help us all. Too bad we have a D.A. who refuses to do his job and perform a detailed investigation into the brother-in-law hiring. As far as the turkey plate giveaway is concerned, we all know the intentions behind this charade. People should always be highly skeptical anytime Ernie starts being generous. If anything greek tragedies have taught us is "beware of greeks (Mexicans) bearing gifts".

ReplyDelete"...If anything greek tragedies have taught us is "beware of greeks (Mexicans) bearing gifts..."
It should read "beware of greeks (democRATAS) bearing gifts."
