Carlos Cascos for Governor? The Tea Party Is Saying "No!"

Former Secretary of State, Cameron
County Judge, Carlos Cascos
Carlos Cascos has not written a "tell-all" book about his tenure as Secretary of State under Governor Greg Abbott.  If he had philosophical differences with Abbott, he never stated those differences.

But, there are rumblings, likely fueled by what Cascos' supporters would like to see happen, not initiated by Cascos himself.

Former Union Pacific Right of Way in West Brownsville
Some assume Cascos will simply try to recapture his old job, Cameron County Judge, from Eddie Trevino.  Trevino likely won a narrow victory over Dan Sanchez because of his stated opposition to a West Rail Road along the 100 foot right of way/easement of the old Union Pacific tracks.

But, the conversation on Facebook has not been about Cascos running for County Judge, but about a race for the governorship.  Some local Republicans, also in the Tea Party movement do not see Cascos as their ideal candidate.

The pragmatic Cascos, considering the Tea Party drama, may simply decide to run for County Judge, a decision his local supporters could easily embrace.

  1. One dumbass with internet access does not a party make. The majority of the Tea Party supports him despite what that nut thinks.

  4. The position certainly affords him the opportunity for multiple girlfriends. I pity his wife having to put up with his shenanigans, like those in Austin that got him booted from the SOS position.

    4. Damn. How embarrassing that people have to make up lies because they can't even get elected for dog catcher and have hateful man-crushes. Maybe acting like a human Hoover on the Colombian diet isn't so much fun. Get help. The professional kind.

  6. Haters will always hate and spread unsubstantiated gossip. Can't beat him at the polls so personal attacks begin. Cascos never takes a stand and yet he wins. And if chooses to run for county judge again, he may just win again.

  7. Running for a county position is stepping down...there is a state-wide animal-control position that he is well suited for

  8. Funny, when gilberto hinojosa left his 13th court of appeals position to run for county judge, nobody said a peep.
