I'm intrigued by Laos, pronounced like "cow," with a silent "s," one of several Southeast Asian countries the U.S. bombed the shit out of in the 60's, 70's, doing so secretly until the release of the Pentagon Papers in 1971.  

It's estimated that our estimable country dropped more than 270 million bombs on Laos between 1964 and 1973 including cluster bombs, killing tens of thousands of men, women and children while leaving an ungodly number of unexploded ordnances that maim and kill to this day, rendering farms and fields unusable.

When we contemplate the damage Donald Trump is going to do as president, we also have to recognize the horrific things done by many past presidents and regimes.
