Billy Settlemeyer of Las Vegas, Nevada, decided to go into the neighborhood ice cream business, rebuilding a 1985 stepvan into an ice cream truck with the clever name painted on the side; "The Las Vegas Ice Cream Patrol."
Seeing the van in her neighborhood, a lady who's since apologized and removed her TikTok posting, mistook the van for law enforcement and social media posts ran with the comment, describing the truck as connected to either ICE or the Border Patrol.
"Please be on the lookout for 'ice cream trucks. . . they play music to get people to come outside. . . this is actually so sick," was the women's comment.
"I'm an ice cream man, that's it," stated Settlemeyer. I wanted to build something creative for my community. . . Safe for kids. That's it."
Settlemeyer is a mechanic and a has never worked in any phase of law enforcement.
