What may have caught Trump's eye in his search for someone to head the F.B.I., is Patel's published children's book, "The Plot Against the King," considered by some to be a work of historical fiction.
Now, it should be noticed that Trump did give Patel a job within the Department of National Intelligence in 2016, later giving him an even better job in the Pentagon. Had Trump won in 2020, he was said to have Patel in mind to head the C.I.A.
Interviewed, Patel says his first order of business as F.B.I. head would be to close down the J.Edgar Hoover Building in Washington, D.C., reopening it the next day as a "museum to the deep state." Next, Patel, would send out the F.B.I.'s 7,000 employees "to be cops" and arrest members of the deep state, especially journalists who've "lied about America."(Nothing in this report should be construed as implying that Patel is batshit crazy.)
Why should Patel be any better than the rest of Trump's nominees? Trump wants these government agencies torn down, wrecked and broken up. That's why he selects people he knows will follow his wishes, not actually run the department.
ReplyDeleteTrump has made it obvious he wants to destroy the Democratic institutions of government and set up a dictatorship.
ReplyDeleteDeep down , voters want this to happen. That is the reason they voted for Trump. The rest of us, we just look and take pictures for history.
