David Duke, Donald Trump

While our country has had obvious racists run for president before, like the KKK's David Duke and former Alabama Governor George Wallace, who covered their racism, sometimes pretending to be a "friend of the Negro," former Arkansas Governor Orville Faubus and former Georgia Governor Lester Maddox hid little.

Faubus stood in the doorway of Little Rock High School trying to block the entrance of the "Little Rock Nine," the first Black students to attend.

Maddox pointed a gun at three black students trying to enter a school in Georgia.

Donald Trump's
racism has been more overt, blatant, obvious, not just he and his father refusing to rent New York City apartments to Blacks in the 80's, but, more recently, his claim that Barack Obama wasn't born in the U.S., willfully ignoring the obvious fact of his birth in Hawaii and constantly repeating Obama's Arabic middle name, Hussein, implying he's Muslim.

Who, but a racist, would announce his candidacy for the presidency by saying that Mexican Nationals are "rapists" and "criminals," although "some are good people," but that's exactly what Trump said in 2015 while gliding down the golden escalator in Trump Tower.

More recently, during this past campaign, Trump openly appealed to racism by repeatedly claiming that Haitian legal residents of Springfield, Ohio were "eating" the local's "cats and dogs," ignoring that area's elected leaders who said the story was untrue.

"Well, maybe they were eating their geese," Trump responded, covering up one lie with another.

Trump's obvious racism was also on full display during Trump's first term as U.S. citizens in Puerto Rico dealt with a devastating hurricane.

Trump cavalierly tossed paper towels out at a briefing on the storm, openly disputed the hurricane's death toll as reported by the mayor of San Juan, also blocked FEMA aid for the island for months and months, then added insult to injury by ignorantly proposing the U.S. trade the beautiful island of Puerto Rico for Greenland.

Such conduct made it obvious that Trump is an ignorant asshole, unfit for the office, racist to the core.

At Charlottesville, a white supremacist group marched carrying torches, shouting "Jews will not replace us," "blood and soil" and "Russia is our friend."

While the country looked for their president to courageously denounce the obvious racism, Trump feebly said that "there are good people on both sides," unwilling to insult his racist base.

Certainly, presidential candidate Kamala Harris faced racism on several levels, given incredibly closer scrutiny than Trump, who could say absolutely stupid shit daily at his rallies and get a pass.

"She needs to show us who she is, let us get to know her" pundits kept repeating like a mantra.

Then, when Harris spoke out like the well-educated, confident person she is, some found her "uppity" and/or "pretentious," even "condescending."

Unfortunately, racism is alive and well in this country and Trump has smartly played into it like the con artist he is.

In a recent interview, Joan Baez, who walked with Dr. King at the March on Washington in 1963, said she knew, even back then, that America's racism would not be overcome in her lifetime.

Unfortunately, she was right.

  1. Evil is hard to disappear. Hopefully, Trump's followers will stop him from destroying the country.

  2. The hate of minorities for the poor of their own countries coming to the USA is also racist. They came to the USA with special permission, then their relatives did the paperwork to bring the rest of the family to America and now they turned against their poor fellow citizens. This is human nature: we only want what is good for us but not for others. That is why they did not care about Trump's racism, they are the same. Cubans are racists. Mexicans are racists, etc etc Trump was elected by racists.

  3. 50.3 % Trump 75,092, 380 votes 48.1% Harris 71, 796,137
Now people put excuses: the country was going in the wrong direction, it was all politics, all lies about Trump, he is a good person etc
The truth is: men do not want a female president
People do not want more protection for LGBTQ (the bad people)
The Pope was against abortion and asked people to vote for the good candidate.
Dark skinned people are not welcomed in the USA anymore.

  4. The Dominican Republic people here in the USA joined Trump when they saw the Haiti people arriving with asylum papers. I saw them being escorted by the agents at the bridge: tall, dark and slender men from Haiti. The Dominican Republic hates Haiti. Haiti is the worst for them: black, poor, ignorant. The Dominican Republic are black but not that black as the Haiti people, they are poor but not that poor and ignorant but not at the level of the people of Haiti. Trump won.
