From the editor: A reader asked for a menu of the old U.S. Bar near the zocalo in Matamoros. I've reposted a menu from the Texas Bar, my favorite hangout, which sat catty corner across from the U.S. Bar back in the day. This must have been from the 70's because I recall a dinner with two entrees going for $1.50 in the 60's. . . filet mignon, pheasant under glass, frog legs, etc.
