Raise Your Hand Texas hosted a candidate forum Wednesday evening at Los Fresnos High School to discuss public education and hear candidates makes their positions known on various public education issues.  

Charles C. Butt, H.E.B. CEO

Raise Your Hand Texas is a group formed by H.E.B. CEO Charles C. Butt and other business and community leaders with a stated purpose to ensure "all Texas children have an equal access to high-quality and supports public policy solutions that invest in students, encourage innovation and autonomy and improve college, military and workforce readiness."

The group invited candidates for Senate District 27 and Texas House District 37 to the forum, including Morgan LaMantia, Democrat and Adam Hinojosa, Republican, for District 27 and Janie Lopez, Republican, and Jonathan Gracia, Democrat, for HD 37. (The two Republicans, Janie Lopez and Adam Hinojosa did not attend with no explanation given for their absence.)
