On May 8, 200 of BISD's Career & Technical Education students were bused to Texas Southmost College for a mass photo shoot hosted by current TSC Board Chair Adela Garza and TSC President Jesus Roberto Rodriguez.

During the staged event students were asked to sign Letter of Commitment cards indicating their desire to pursue a career in welding or pipefitting within TSC's Workforce Training and Continuing Education program.

Students were photographed in a style resembling the way college teams publicize the signing of a top high school recruit.

  2. It was time for these students to get the respect and honor they deserve. These careers are difficult and few are able to complete them. Then the job is risky, demanding and competitive. TSC is showing their support for these students. The president of TSC knows the value of these talented students.

  3. The president of TSC likes to meet the students at ITECC. I think every year, he goes and has a meet and greet luncheon with these ITECC students. More local businesses should attend this event and support these Career students. ITECC is another world....very impressive.
