I'm thinking about Mr. Trump and accountability.
In my simple mind, that word implies paying what you owe or even for damage you've caused, as in an accident you were responsible for, a slander you repeated, even a monster you created.
Prompting that sequence is the realization that Trump is paying attorney fees for criminal charges with campaign donations; $37,000,000 so far from his SAVE AMERICA fund alone.
Even if the MAGA heads of this country say they don't mind and I'm pretty sure they don't, how is that accountability?
Trump even brags that with every new indictment he raises millions in campaign dollars as the "victim of a corrupt justice system."
Trump even merchandised the mug shot from his booking at the Fulton County Jail, selling 47,000 t-shirts, coffee mugs and posters. Yes, playing the victim primes the pump.
Using campaign funds to pay for criminal attorneys and merchandising your arrest may be the rich man's version of "if you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed for you."
But, it mitigates accountability, cushioning its blow.
The other end around being employed by The Former Guy's legal squad is to postpone, delay, prolong everything until next year, after the primaries, after the election, after the defendant's death.
Delayed accountability, yet another wrinkle.
