Of Putin, Trump proclaims "I was the apple of his eye!"
Putin responds by calling Trump's indictments in U.S. courts "persecution of one's political rival political motive."
Putin continues:
“As for the persecution of Trump, I believe that everything happening at the moment is good. Because it demonstrates the rottenness of the American political system, which cannot pretend to teach others about democracy.”
Donald Trump would absolutely agree with the Russian leader.
I found it odd that Putin used the word "persecution," as his regime has been noted for extreme suppression and actual persecution of minority religious groups not recognized by the State.
