RACIST LEADERS IN OUR COUNTRY~PART II

David Duke

It was shocking to see David Duke, just in his mid-20's, as a frequent guest on news talk shows in the mid-to-late 70's, especially because of his role as Grand Wizard of the Knights of the Klu Klux Klan.

Duke was a slick, slimy purveyor of hate, convincing some he was simply advocating for Blacks to have their own country, although he never specified whether that would be in some American wasteland or in Africa.

In 1988  Duke claimed a "born again" Christian experience, temporarily renouncing racism and anti-semitism, and was elected to the Lousiana House of Representatives as a Republican.

Later in life, Duke unapologetically returned to his White supremacist, neo-Nazi views, his true inclination.

Racist Donald J. Trump

Documenting Donald J. Trump's racism is as easy as a simple Google search, although many of my friends in Brownsville remain stalwart supporters irregardless.

For Trumpites, facts don't matter.

Nothing matters but imagery, like holding up a Bible or embracing the flag.

Most Brownsville Republicans will even ignore the words of the de facto leader of their party in Cameron County--Carlos Cascos, who's rejected Trump.

In the "it's a small world" department, Trump spoke today at the Machine Shed Restaurant in Urbanville, Ia, just across the street from our hotel this time last year.

For the record, Ana liked the midwestern style chili while I found the chicken pot pie soggy as Hell.

But, Trump's racism without writing a book:

Birtherism, as in Obama wasn't born in the U.S.  Trump used that small-minded racist tool to burst onto the political scene.

Five black men: Trump wanted them "executed," but they were found innocent.

Blacks, Mexicans, muslims, native Americans, Jews: all recipients of Trump hate.

Africa: "shithole" to Trump

Mexican Nationals:  rapists

White supremacists:  "good people"
