NOT EXCUSING PENA, BUT CALLING OUT EXTREME HYPOCRISY OF DRUE BROWN AND PRISCI ROCA TIPTON

BISD Board Member Minerva Pena

I'm not bothered by Minerva Pena losing her board position if found guilty of nepotism, although District Attorney Saenz has failed to prosecute in politically charged cases before.

Pena's fate will be determined by the facts or Saenz' prosecutorial reluctance.

Not part of the legal equation, but, in all honesty, the likely reason that Pena was singled out is her goofy, self-promoting personality, a lack of self-awareness to an embarrassing degree. 

Yet, the voters approved Pena four times.

Associate sponsors of the provision to censure Pena were Board members Drue Brown and Prisci Roca Tipton, hypocrites to the max, who wholeheartedly embraced Sylvia Atkinson, a board member with significantly more violations of nepotism, among other things, than Pena.

Please don't forget that Sylvia Atkinson put her brother Charlie "at the front of the line" for a coaching position with no coaching experience or even a teaching degree, bringing still other family members aboard the BISD gravy train.

Yet, for Brown and Tipton, Atkinson was a mentor, while the silly Pena is "unfit to serve" for lesser violations.(While much of Atkinson's nepotism occurred before Brown and Tipton were on the board, much of her other corruption was concurrent with their period of service.)

Hypocrisy at its most blatant level!

Not a dime's worth of difference between the three!
