CAMERON COUNTY STILL OFFERING $50 INCENTIVE FOR 12-18 YEAR OLDS TO GET VACCINATED, BUT FEW TAKERS

So far, only 352 students 12-18 have taken advantage of the $50 incentive to get the Pfizer vaccine, according to Esmeralda Guajardo, the Cameron County health administrator.

Census figures show that Cameron County has about 30,000 in that age range.

About 25% in the 12-18 age range have been vaccinated in Texas.

The program is being funded by the American Rescue Plan and the county has 3,000 card ready to hand out.

  1. Maybe they are going somewhere else and getting the Moderna vaccine. Probably wishful thinking.
