Jerry McHale |
McHale's pitching style is reminiscent of New York Yankee 1950's flamethrower Ryne Duren.
You kids won't remember Duren, but his 110 MPH fastball thrown sidearm could be two feet off the plate or headed straight for the batter's head, making the guy in the batter's box a bit jumpy.
McHale is in the same mold, erratically wild at times, but right on the noggin when he has his good stuff.
Legendary Yankee Manager Casey Stengel's words about Duren, apply equally to McHale:
"I would not admire hitting against Ryne Duren, because if he ever hit you in the head you might be in the past tense."
McHale joins another fastballer, Hector Cascos, on today's Whine with Cheez podcast emanating from Angelita's Casa de Café, 2200 Boca Chica Blvd., at 1:30 PM.
Ryne Duren's record was 37-44! Ja ja ja ja You just can't win, you sad fuck.
ReplyDeleteReading comprehension, dumbass! Batters were scared shitless to face Duren, not that you would ever understand that era or this one. . You are the truly sad fuck; alone, disrespected and irrelevant.
DeleteJim, the dumbass has Duren's record off by ten games. Obviously, he's a non-journalist with zero sports knowledge, a real loser!
DeleteThe trolling blogger's miserable life went into a downhill spiral when the plump Kyle, TX nurse kicked him to the curb. . . . now; no house, no car, no life.
