From the editor: These are some notes I made in preparation for today's likely guestless podcast, just some quick observations about the six remaining candidates in the city election.
Nurith Galonsky: personable, down-to-earth, not a snobby rich girl, seemed almost a natural interacting with District 1 residents. Family affluence permitted extensive schooling without the economic need to make a living, still, she did the work and deserves credit for her degrees. Not a threat to sell Galonsky family properties to the city as she will have to recuse herself from decision-making involving family holdings.
Ricardo Longoria, Jr.: very good master of ceremonies, expedites city commission meetings with quick motions to approve, not much accomplished for district in 16 years, dropped the ball on FEMA dome with 80/20 federal match that would have benefitted district.
John Cowen: pleasant young man with almost "choir boy" features, successfully runs family business, better suited for a bureaucratic role than dynamic politician, paid for ads from a local blogger that referred to his female opponent as "a hag on the rag," no disavowal of misogynistic comments means he owns it, a character flaw.
Jessica Puente Bradshaw: Very assertive, suffers from lack of community involvement in recent years, hard campaigner. Extreme political views not a factor in city office, but duly noted.
Charlie Cabler: Working hard with church and ethnic groups, knowledge of how city is run, prone to use generalizations, rather than specifics in forums, may be viewed as not moving city forward during long tenure as city administrator
Trey Mendez: Detail man, one of few to execute successful business plan downtown, can be faulted for extending contract of TSC president before termination. Resigning from TSC board if elected.
Slates: likely good marketing plan, but may turn off voters who conscientiously vote for individual candidates. Generates name recognition.

You are a piece of shit Jim. Always at the ready to criticize, but when it comes to Erasmo... nothing. You are an accomplice to what he allegedly did with a BISD student at Macarthy’s Bar &Grill with your silence. Yes, a piece of excrement is what I say you are.
ReplyDeleteCalm down, son. Don't let your panties get into a wad! There is something called "innocent until proven guilty." Interesting that you pretend to present "details," but can't remember your own name. That makes you an anonymous, cowardly piece of human excrement(shit).
ReplyDeleteAs I made clear on the podcast, any incident involving a minor should be immediately reported to the police for an investigation. Instead, the accuser apparently paid a blogger to run her/his version of events.
ReplyDeleteOnce the initial investigation is completed, that transaction and the subsequent reporting should be part of the police investigation to see if its defamatory.
Copying duardo's candidates profile style doesn't make you duardo, Jim. smh
ReplyDeletewhy would anyone copy a blog with no readership?
