INCUMBENT MAYOR MARTINEZ DECIDES TO "GO LOW," RELEASING ATTACK AD AGAINST TREY MENDEZ

From the editor:  Mayor Tony Martinez has decided to "go low" in an increasingly desperate effort to retain the the mayor's office in the City of Brownsville.

Perhaps internal polling by "Message, Audience, Presentation, Inc.," the Austin agency Martinez now uses for the third time to run his campaign, has suggested that Martinez lags behind the other two candidates.

In any event, Martinez, who chose not to sign the "Code of Fair Campaign Practices" pledge, has now prepared an attack ad for mailout.

We repost a copy of that mailout below:

    2. If they're facts, they're facts! Mendez is accountable.

    3. Yes facts: lily Teceros attorneys have admitted the state never gaver her permission to file a breach of contract case in federal court. There argument is it is too late to argue lack of jurisdiction over the case. Not going to fly. Yea but why let facts get in the way of this mess. If I understand Tony's argument if a jury watches a video of a man raping a child the jury is wrong for making up their mind before deliberations the man is guilty. Tony knows better and is a liar. The Board new before the hearing Lily used signature stamps of former trustees. It was not disputed. Due process calls for the hearing. If the evidence was not disputed before the hearing, it is not a sham hearing. But there is more to this and on Monday I will go back to my discussion of false alliances.

  2. I don’t understand why Trey gets offended. If the facts are there they are not making things up. What he should be doing instead of acting like the victim, he needs to show that it’s all false information. He like to complain a lot but yet does nothing to prove them wrong. So tell us trey can you show our people that this statements they are accusing you of are false?

  3. Trey continues to say this was a low blow.... I see nothing but fighting on the issues. If Trey couldn’t take care of the public’s monies, why should we vote him to safeguard an even larger pie? TONY!!

  4. 90% of that public testimony was from UT students who were coached. I was there. Juliet Garcia was not. One would have thought she would have been in attendance due to the nature of the vote. Because of that vote to separate from UT, the community maintains control over TSC. Had the vote gone the other way, we would have lost all the assets the community has invested in TSC while still bearing the responsibility of repaying the bond debt that goes into 2034, you know the debt from the bond that went $40M over budget to beautify the college. Think whatever you want, I am happy the community maintains control of TSC. Those negative ads count on the low or no information voters being gullible.
