CINDi HINOJOSA MAKES HER CASE FOR JUSTICE OF THE PEACE ON THE STEPS OF THE DANCY BUILDING

Cindi Hinojosa, candidate for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, Place 1, looks on as husband Gilberto Hinojosa, State Democratic Chair, gives her a flowery introduction

On the second coldest day of the year, Cindi Hinojosa heard women she'd grown up with praise her abundantly, then watched as her husband, State Democratic Chairperson Gilberto Hinojosa, channeled the Reverand Al Sharpton for a quasi-spiritual dissertation on the soul.

Hinojosa described his wife as an "old soul," then a "good soul," carefully using both male and female pronouns to refer to the God who made "all souls."

In one of the better definitions we've heard of a Justice of the Peace, Hinojosa said that folks seek the services of a JP to get "justice," hoping to leave "in peace."

Gilberto and Cindi's daughter, after leading the assembled group in the Pledge of Allegiance, held the microphone for her mom's speech.

Despite the temperature hovering around 40f, I was the only one I noticed leaving early.

This was a solid showing for a young woman I recall sitting on the floor at Cameron County Democratic meetings, only commenting to "steady the ark," so to speak, like the Old Testament character Uzzah.(Do something with that, Gilberto!)

Cindi Hinojosa agreed to appear on the Whine and Cheez podcast 3/17/2019, along with Amber Medina, rumored to be running against Representative Alex Dominguez.

  1. Hey Barton, unless you wanna piss off the Lord, the last thing you want to do is to advise someone to "steady the ark", advice which contradicts God's Word. Ignorance gave the Philistines hemorrhoids, knowledge got the Israelites instant death. Steady the ark does not mean steady the ship.

    1. I couldn't care less about pissing off any of the Lords. As for Uzzah's role in trying to keep the wobbly Ark of the Covenant on track, I applaud it and disagree with jehovah's murder of a guy who was just trying to help out. But, keep reading your Bible, son. It can't hurt your development.

    2. Or, said better from your standpoint, "I'm simply the worst."
