Current Cameron County Judge, Democrat Eddie Trevino, Jr., held a boisterous event at comfy Cobbleheads* Thursday evening, hosted by the loquacious Joe Hinojosa, Trevino's city commission opponent in 2001.
At the bar, just beyond the normal range of the event, sat Hector Cascos, brother of the Republican county judge challenger, Carlos Cascos. Hector can report back to his bro about the size of the event or if there were any G.O.P crossovers drinking Democrat wine. There weren't.

The woman who provided lots of names of people who could support her claims? People who were then interviewed by the FBI? And every single one outright contradicted her or had no memory of it at all? THAT ONE? Yeah, she had absolutely nothing. There's still a presumption of innocence in this country and an accuser should NEVER be believed solely on the basis of gender identity nor political alignment! Nice try, but you're out!
ReplyDeleteSupreme Court justices are no umpires. They are partisans, and increasingly naked ones to boot. In more ordinary times, that in itself would be bad enough. But in the extraordinary times in which we now live, it is terrifying. For as congressional Republicans have found over the past two years, to remain a member in good standing of the conservative tribe, it no longer suffices to embrace conservative social values or to have reverence for the constitution. Rather, it now means a willingness to ride the wave of conservative resentment wherever it may take you—and of course to back its foul-mouthed spokesman, whatever he might choose to do.
