ROBERT SANCHEZ AMENDS CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORT TO SHOW REPUBLICAN DONOR TO DEMOCRAT CAMPAIGN

Robert "Captain Bob" Sanchez, a Democrat candidate for County Judge, filed his amended campaign finance report today.

He lists an $800 contribution from Tad Hasse(Republican Party).  That's an appropriate designation as Hasse holds several important positions in the local Republican Party; Parliamentarian, Precinct Chair and Chief Strategist, plus the informal role as County Chair Morgan Graham's "right hand man."

Captain Bob leaves the box blank calling for the reason for amending, plus doesn't account for $50 of the $1250 filing fee.

Mr. Sanchez also clearly designates Tad Hasse as the donor, not Rebecca Gomez as some have claimed.

Still, no one has stepped up to explain where Hasse got the $800 and why a high-ranking official in the local Republican Party would be donating to a Democrat, doing so in such a clandestine way.

Mrs. Gomez, Sanchez's Campaign Finance Manager, claims Hasse "took a week" to raise the funds.

This contribution by Republican Hasse to a Democrat candidates raises several possible conundrums.

What if Sanchez had won the Democrat primary against Eddie Trevino?  Strange things happen in politics.

The Scout's Oath
Would Republican operative Hasse have supported Sanchez, the receiver of his donated funds, in the general election against Republican candidate Carlos Cascos?

Or, would Hasse have admitted the whole thing was simply a ruse to tie up campaign assets of Trevino in a primary run?

What say you Tad?

  1. Republican leader Tad Hasse donated to a Democrat.

Republican Precinct Chair Carlos Cascos to run for same county judge position as Democrat Robert Sanchez.

Does Tad Hasse resent Carlos Cascos? Or was this an elaborate scheme initiated the Republican Party as Sanchez alleges in this amended report and Rebecca Gomez alleges in the Brownsville Republic?

  3. You can’t be running for office and anprecinct Chairman, dumbasses. You automatically resign your position. Jim, Roman is making statements he knows are false to force a tie to the party and you are knowingly going along with it. Disappointing.

    1. If it's true that Tad has relinquished his position as precinct chair, I will retract that statement.

    2. Are Republicans denying Toothless Tad held any or all those positions within the Republican Party at the time of $800 donation to a Democrat?
