JOHN & BARBARA FIGHTING TO KEEP BROWNSVILLE FROM BECOMING CHANNEL VIEW!

LNG Plant After Explosion, Fire

by John & Barbara

Lots of misinformation lately about Rio Grande LNG, Annova LNG, and Texas LNG suggesting that they're done deals, that they'll be approved June 2019.

That's just a possibility at this point. First, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has to publish DRAFT Environmental Impact Statements on them -- scheduled for this October. The companies, FERC, and the 9 "cooperating agencies" (such as the US Army Corps of Engineers and the Environmental Protection Agencies) have a lot of work to do to get the Statements published by this October.

Then we'll have 45 days to submit comments on the Statements. And also, FERC has to schedule public meetings regarding the Statements. That's why SAVE RGV from LNG is raising money to hire an environmental law firm to help us write effective comments and to make Motions To Intervene. To make a donation, go to https://www.gofundme.com/donate-to-resist-save-rgv-from-lng

Only after that can FERC put together and publish FINAL Environmental Impact Statements. And only after that can FERC authorize construction of the LNG projects.

Then, the companies have to make their Final Investment Decisions. The have to risk loosing a big bunch of money to make this decision.

And oh, yes, this is just a simplified description of what has to happen before any of the companies can actually stick a spade in the ground. So I'll be providing additional details as they become relevant.

Below is a 08-31-2018 Save RGV from LNG Newsletter. Lots of other good stuff has been happening since 08-31-2018 -- too much for me to report on right now. To stay up to date, visit, friend, and follow our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/saveRGVfromLNG/. Also we have a SAVE RGV from LNG Brownsville meeting scheduled for this Thursday evening, 09-13-2018, at 6 pm.

We have been fighting the LNG companies in the streets, on the beaches, and in the press with our own means for the last four years. Now it is time to fight in the courtroom as well. Environmental lawyers are expensive! Our first goal is to raise $10,000. A successful case might stop an LNG company or it might create a delay of a year or two while the company conforms to the law. That may be all it takes to stop investors. Please click here to DONATE to our legal effort to stop LNG.

Every dollar $ is greatly appreciated.

  1. Good jobs on the way! These morons can’t even raise 10 grand? That would just be $2,000 per person who attend their meetings. LNG DONE DEAL!
