QUESTIONS ABOUT TRUMP'S MENTAL FITNESS FOR OFFICE RAISED

President Trump
The Goldwater rule notwithstanding, President Donald J. Trump gave the world this self-diagnosis:

"Throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart. Crooked Hillary Clinton also played these cards very hard and, as everyone knows, went down in flames. I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Star to President of the United States (on my first try). I think that would qualify as not smart, but genius....and a very stable genius at that!"

Well before Twitter, Forest Gump gave the counterpoint:

"Stupid is as stupid does."

Trump's tweet about being "really smart" actually reveals a gap in education as kids are typically taught at an early age not to brag on their intelligence.

At six, I was gently corrected to not say "I know" after everything adults tried to tell me.

"People don't like know-it-alls," I was told.

As questions surface relative to Trump's mental stability, fitness for office, judgement and reading habits, some in the administration feel an urgency to testify seeing glimpses of greatness by the President within the inner circle.

"He just baffles us with his brilliance," they protest.

It's a waste of words.

No mentally stable person picks a schoolyard fight with a young, impulsive dictator with nuclear weapons.

No smart person reasons that cold winter temperatures in certain regions disprove global warming.
