The blogger you reference has some knowledge gaps with respect to property taxes, possibly not being a payer. Nena and I live in an RV, a recreational vehicle, not taxed as a home. The small amount of tax assessed us is for the porch, not the RV. Several years ago, workers from the Cameron County Appraisal District came out and measured our porch, assessing us accordingly. We happily pay the annual assessment and enjoy the convenience of an overhead awning, porch and steps. So much for investigative "journalism" from a McAllen coffee shop!
