Brownsville Police Department Being Played for Political Purposes
It was pretty obvious that Commissioner John Villarreal called the police on the Letty Perez-Garzoria fundraiser held at Little Builders Day Care, 1064 Palm Blvd. He was seen driving by twice and even had some sarcastic remarks for the occupants of the non-Brownsville EMS vehicle parked near the facility. Shortly after the immature commissioner drove by, City Manager Charlie Cabler appeared, quickly followed by five police cars. A fire marshal checked to see if the barbecue had a fire permit. In another incident the police were called to stifle sign-carrying supporters of Martin Sarkis.
When the police and other city employees are played by insecure politicians, the losers are the citizens who have real needs. While the insecure John Villarreal and the movers and shakers who oppose the Martin Sarkis candidacy are playing their games, some segment of the city, some serious incident gets neglected.
Playing political games with the city's first responders is potentially lethal, not to mention self-serving and egotistical. It does serve to make one great point, though: This city needs new leadership.

Sorry Jim, but they were standing in the middle of the blvd. I saw them. even I would have called the police. does that make me insecure? These fiemen are pubic servants and should know better than obstructing traffic. good for browsville pd for doing their job.

ReplyDeleteDoes that go for the pi ems truck driver too that was hanging out with his buc buddies?
Mas vale malo por conocido que bueno por conocer, john might not be much but letty is crazy and thinks being the loudest person in the room makes her the smartest. my voice your issues? Please, how about some solutions? she has said nothing of substance other than I don't know about that in a very loud way. i guess its back to crazy city comm meetings.at least it will make for good tv
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately the law enforcement agencies are often used for political purposes. The Cameron County law enforcement (less the Sheriff who believe in gambling) are engaged in 8-liner shakedowns....more for political purposes than for law enforcement. Politicians regularly use their influence to cause the police to take action or (as in the case of Melissa Zamora) to cover up wrong doing by politicians (Rene Oliviera after his automobile accident on frontage road and his car had no insurance).....so let's not zero in on one person when most of the elected officials in Cameron County use their positions to influence law inforcement and the justic system.
ReplyDeleteAnon,2;30pm no one, I mean no one could have said better. Agree, their is a JP in Northern Cameron, that weighs about 350lbs. And loves to play las maquinitas. She is one "Whale" of a judge.
