Armando Villalobos |
"A federal grand jury on Monday indicted former Cameron County District Attorney Armando R. Villalobos on a charge of fraud and perjury in connection with his 2006 federal income tax return.
Villalobos is charged with understating his and his wife’s gross income by about $155,625, and underpaying $45,981 in taxes. The fraud and perjury charge carries a prison term of up to three years, a $100,000 fine or both upon conviction. Villalobos is scheduled to appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge Ronald G. Morgan at 9 a.m. Jan. 16 for arraignment. Bail will be set at that time."
This is why voting matters. I voted for this guys opponent Peter Zavaletta
ReplyDeleteRummor has it that the a Precinct Judge at the time gave most of the Zavaletta ballots to one of the Magallanes's for storage.
DeletePeter Zavaletta won, some crooks stole the election, like they stole the Lopez, Begum, etc, etc,,,,

ReplyDeleteArmando Villalobos is a slug and unfortunately very representative of the Cameron County Democratic Party and those that vote for that parties candidates. Its constant corruption by self serving people who don't even pretend to serve the people. Even after one goes to jail, another crawls out of a hole and the culture of party corruption elects them. Are the people of Cameron County so entrenched in a culture of political corruption that they now have a "habit" of electing scoundrals to office, or is the public just too ignorant to be expected to participate in a real democratic process. No wonder Brownsville and Cameron County can't progress.....the officials are only looking out for themselves and are happy keeping the public "barefoot and pregnant" to support their power mongering.

ReplyDeleteJake.
Who would have thought this type of criminality was taking place in the District Attorney's office.
ReplyDeleteYes, and at the City, Cameron, BISD, and at the Port,
DeleteWhat abour Cameron Counties dirtiest cop? Abel Gomez. Rumor is he's in the indictments too.
DeleteI heard he fired two people already at the court house.
DeleteYeah, every time any blog talks about voter fraud they post his picture with Jr. Andrade from Jr's restaurant and nobody ever holds either of them accountable for the voter fraud. Rather the blogs turn to Ernie bashing.
