Gill-Martinez seemingly won the election, but with Roger Ortiz as election administrator, nothing is certain. After provisional, military and misplaced ballots were counted, Jose Chirinos was declared the winner. The BISD board wasted no time in swearing Chirinos in.
Now, with Gill-Martinez posting a $4,500 bond, a recount has been scheduled for 8:30 AM Tuesday at the BISD administration building.
Gill-Martinez, a retired special education teacher, initially asked for an interview with MMB, then cancelled due to a flare-up of "rheumatoid arthritus" and "being off (her) meds." Later, during a meet-and-greet of BISD candidates, Gill-Martinez bolted when she learned that candidate's speeches were being videotaped.
Ms. Gill-Martinez was one of six candidates supported by the online politiquera group Brownsville Cheezmeh. Five of the six candidates lost their elections, with the only victor, Erin H. Garcia accused of substantial voter fraud contributing to her victory.

Don't know these people to write absolutes, but here's what I would say, simply based on what I read in this Blog. Uresti: No info, so no comment; Hasse: he's something of an eccentric in town, and he's lost every election he's ever been in, so that says much about him. His style is Gooberish and his physical appearance hurts him. Sort of a cross between Gomer Pyle and every wino who's ever called Market Square home. But, who knows, maybe his contribution would be the equivalent of a good mashed potato guy at the local buffet restaurant; Masso: tainted badly, perhaps forever, by his years with indicted D.A. Armando Villalobos; Donald Clupper: the proverbial flounder out of water. The local geography will never favor him. Also suffers from his looks, which, to me, are the looks of those hated Arizonans; Gill-Martinez: Nothing she could ever do would change the perception that she is better suited for a job at the local tire shop. Her face and a leadership post with the school district clash horribly. Not a model for children with those cheap tattoos and that look of an easy 1927 Chicago flapper. Erin H. Garcia: This one is hopeless as a positive figure in town. In the same league as Don Corleone's daughter and just about any tamale-scarfing Pancho Villa "Adelita." Her first name has that "erring" ring, and we all know the definition of that word. Would have been better off being born in Tijuana or Bangkok. Collectively, they are a dubious lot...

DeleteYou're correct. Cheezmeh did take on Chuck late after Masso lost. They also promoted Denise Blanchard, although sort of limply. I didn't know they supported Jessica Puente Bradshaw. Are u sure? Brownsville Cheezmeh posted that even though it was a long they were backing up Jessica Blanchard over Filemon Vela because allegedly Filemon was a Rebublican at first and switched to Democrat.
DeleteJessica Tetrau only had signs on her car wash of Chuck Mattingly and Jessica Bradshaw as well and we all know she only does what Brownsville Cheezmeh tells her what to do. She is and has been their puppet from day one. I wouldn't like to be in any elected official that they help and win because you will OWE them for the rest of your elected term and they will throw it in your face every chance they get.
They also backed up Alex Dominguez for State Representative agains Rene Oliveria which he also LOST. I like Alex and he would of have done a great job but a Loss is a Loss.
Message to ALL WANNA BE Politicians if you ask Brownsville Cheezmeh to Endorse you you WILL LOOSE. Guaranteed just look at their record. 1-9. They will take your money and kick you to the curve.

Absolutely hilarious but very truthful. Congrats on your writing skills. FYI - Uresti is one of the top 5 Cheez followers who has threatened to leave FB but the kool aid drinkers love him so much that they convinced him to stay on board. He is well noted for speaking his mind and mouthing off, but the female cheezer FB fans love that and adore him.

Brownsville cheesme is an outdated thing of the past. this man preys on the weak and he is a con artist. Seventy percent of his suppose friends on his site are fake accounts. this man erasmo is a control freak and so many have left that group for that same reason.
