More Pure Meanness from Mean Mister Brownsville

I've never been a bully, which is why I've always gently tiptoed around the lunacy of Bobby Wightman-Cervantes, careful not to send his fragile psyche into an elliptical orbit beyond recovery. There is no pleasure in a verbal skirmish with a 98 lb psychological weakling any more than Shaquille O'Neal would gain street cred or add to his legacy by challenging Pee Wee Herman to a fist fight. After all, being born with some mental stability does not make me superior to someone whose reasoning is always a quarter turn off. I've always treated the Bobby WC's of the world with a measure of kindness and respect as I treated the middle-aged man I knew in Arkansas who followed his elderly mother everywhere she went. He held flash cards in his hands with Hebrew characters,  always prefacing his remarks by explaining that Hebrew was read right to left, not left to right like English and the romance languages. I would ask him to read a card or two. He always obliged until he looked up and realized that his mother was half a block away. "Got to go," he would say.

I smiled knowingly at Bobby's latest jab at me, pulled directly from his ample posterior:  "Jim in his little tirade against Cheezhmeh this morning fails to tell people he is a liar and remind people how he tried to shake down Carlos Masso  for advertising dollars."  While a mental health professional might simply say:  "Bobby, how long have you had these feelings?", it should suffice to say that I'm a bit rusty on "shake down" technique, don't know Carlos Masso and I'm doubtful that he wants to advertise on my blog any more than I want his ads.

On a more rational note, Jerry Mchale on his blog Brownsville Blues, faces his mortality, taking the sting out of death.  Life has multiple stings, but death is stingless.  Jerry has turned 61, which is sort of an awkward age like 13, not old enough for Social Security, but too old for Major League Baseball in most circumstances.  Actually 16 and 21 were the only benchmarks that meant anything to me.  After that, it's all sort of redundant.

Addendum:  Here is a flippant remark I made in a much earlier blog that may have confused Bobby:  ""If we had been advertising at 3 cents a hit, that could have generated $300 per advertiser. But, Carlos Masso never returned our phone calls."  That was a joke Bobby!  Masso seemed to be the poster boy for local political ads on blogs at the time with ads on "El Rrun Rrun", "Downtown Browntown News", I believe and the running ad on Brownsville Cheezmeh along with Erin H. Garcia.  I've never talked to Masso and no local political ads have appeared on my blog.  A few days ago I signed up for Adsense and the pennies have been rolling in.  There I go again.  The current ads running are for a book, computer services and the Galaxy Nexus.  I saw one last week asking which Republican would win his party's nomination.  But no Begum, no Masso, no Saenz, no Dominguez, no Erin H. Garcia, no Joe Cisneros. . .no political ads. . . nada!

  1. Well, Jim, the same question comes up that came up after the "Mary Rey Tapes": Can the accused deny the charges?

Still kissing up to McHale, I see.

Isn't that what I just did? Everything can't be written at a third grade level.

  5. Maybe the original question should have been, "Can the accused explain the charges?"
