ERIC GARZA FLUNKS FIRST TEST IN CAMPAIGN FOR STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION, DISTRICT 2

"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much."

Saint Luke, Chapter 16, Verse 10
New International Version

Eric Garza
On November 6 Eric Garza, via Facebook,  boldly announced to the world his campaign for political office:

"One year from today, November 6, 2018, we look forward to our election night victory! Looking forward to serving District 2 on the State Board of Education! Thank you for your support and vote."

The announcement was followed by single comment from sad sack Elizabeth Dierlam of the Brownsville Tea Party, wishing young Eric godspeed and inviting him to speak at the group's monthly meeting.

Eric's announcement included online campaign signage above, which would normally include the name of a campaign treasurer, a requirement BEFORE making such an announcement.

A quick perusal of the Texas Ethics Commission website shows that, one month later, Eric has still not appointed or filed the name of a Campaign Treasurer.

Ironically, Eric is the founding member of Garza & Polin Strategies, LLC, a company started four years ago as a management and campaign consulting group.

Hopefully, Eric will remind the campaigns he guides to be certain to select and file the name of a campaign treasurer BEFORE announcing the intent to run for office.

  1. Maybe he will not run but he still violated the rule to get a treasurer. File a complaint.

  3. He's not active in the local Republican Party. Jim, how did you find this "Republican" candidate?

  4. Maybe he doesn’t need a treasurer. Perhaps he intends to not spend any money on this race. This sounds like a sad attack against him by a juvenile, immature person. It’s not an ethics violation yet. The deadline for filing hadn’t even passed. And you don’t know he’s accepted any money or WILL for that matter.
