Brownsville Police Department Catches, Arrests Sign Scammer

The Brownsville Police Department has arrested Juan Leon Torres, 51, charging him with theft.

 Torres has been allegedly posing as a sign maker, collecting money from local business people, giving them a receipt, but never making the sign.

    Jim, what happened? Jurors took less than four hours to find Marisa Govea Hernandez not guilty of the accidental death of Maria Elizabeth Guzman.
    Despite visiting state District Court Judge Manuel J. Banales' warning about any outbursts when the verdict was read, family members of Hernandez erupted with cheers of joy and relief when the announcement was made to the packed gallery.
